There are two kinds of association on campus, the five “permanent” associations , and the rest of associations.

The five permanent associations include: the  Association Sportive (AS) [Sports Association]; the Bureau des Arts (BDA) [Arts Bureau], ; the Bureau des élèves (BDE) [Student Bureau]; Sciences Po Environnement (SPE) [Sciences Po Environment], and Les Cordées de la Réussite. These associations are elected at the end of the year through Bureau elections, in which student lists run to lead the permanent associations the following year. While elected, the permanent associations do take in a few 1A's into their teams at the beginning of the year.

Other student associations are numerous. Every organisation has its specific purpose and organise events throughout the year.

There will be an associations fair early in the year for you to consider which associations to join. The recruiting procedures vary widely from one association to another, but it is important to note that joining an association does not mean you cannot participate in their events. Rather, the associations recruit students to be in their teams, who will then organise events for the whole campus.

If you are curious, here are some summaries of the associations present on campus. If you want to know more about the associations, don't hesitate to find their respective facebook pages, or contact the CYOC team for more details!

AS

2018-2019 President: Camille Benguerbi

The Association Sportive focuses mainly on making sure that everyone can be involved in and practice sports, as we feel it is very important in a student’s life. Especially les Collégiades’ sports (soccer, rugby, volley, basketball and cheerleading) are available but also a lot of other sports thanks to several partnerships with the city of Reims and the FFSU. Besides the AS this year will also thrive to involve students in sports through weekly activities in and off campus from zumba classes and footings to the broadcastings of sports events ! The AS thus aims at taking part in the city's sport life, through sporting events or partnerships, and at integrating people on campus through their passion and through intercampus events (WEIC) to get ready for les Collégiades where all of the Sciences Po campus face each other in a sport and artistic competition.

Sciences Po Environment

2018-2019 President: Laura Tirollois

We have 3 main missions: to raise student awareness about environmental issues, to work to improve campus sustainability and to establish a real relationship between the students and the local actors in Reims. Although the Bureau can be considered as the executive committee of SPE, the association is much more than that: it is a forum open for discussions, ideas and projects around the environmental question. We want it to become a vibrant and active community of adherents that meet once a month with the Bureau to debrief on the advancement of our projects, propose new ones and help each other with the difficulties we encounter. We already have many projects for this year, and we will need support, ideas, and smiles to make them happen! SPE also seeks to represent and welcome all of you in the Sciences Po Environment.  If you're curious enough, come to have a chat with us, attend a general assembly, or go to one of our dinners and brunches!
If you have advice, ideas or questions concerning a particular topic, don't hesitate to contact us!

Cordées de la Réussite

2018-2019 co-presidents: Alina Yalmanian and Julien Arvis

The Cordées de la Réussite is an association that runs in several French schools and has the support of the French Ministère de l’éducation nationale.

Through weekly visits in 6 disadvantaged schools in Reims (middle schools), trips and activities (in particular an end of the year trip) around a specific theme, the Sciences Po Students are tutoring small groups of students (10-12). They support them by fostering their curiosity, enhancing their culture, and express themselves more easily in public.

L’initiative des Cordées de la Réussite se déroule dans de nombreux établissements scolaires de France et est appuyée par le Ministère de l’éducation nationale.

NOTE: please keep your Monday afternoons free during course registration if you wish to participate in this association!
