STUDENT LIFE
Here is a list of some of our favorites bars and restaurants in Reims:
La Brasserie Saint Maurice:
It’s a little brasserie right next to school. The owners are so nice and the prices are reasonable. It is the perfect place if you want to casually grab some lunch or go have a drink with friends or even TA’s. You will have the occasion of going there often, as association organize parties or more chilled events there
Le Killbery, Le Sherlock, Le Hemingway:
These three bars are all located on the Place Drouet d’Erlon, you will mostly go there when the BDE (Bureau des Eleves) organizes bar nights. However, they are also great places to just have a drink with some friends and it makes a great change form the Brasserie
Reims Pizza Kebab:
The closest place from the campus to get a kebab! The owners are a lot of fun and very welcoming. And they deliver!
Sushido:
It’s a pretty cheap sushi place on Rue Gambetta (which is the big avenue that leads to campus), it very close to the campus but also they deliver which turns out to be quite handy, when you have to study for finals
Oma Coffee:
This is the most popular place to get a coffee! The owner is so sweet and everything there is so good. She makes homemade cookies and the smoothies are perfect. It’s the perfect place to work if you’re tired of the library.
Sacré Burger:
This is a food truck that is not in Reims everyday, however, when it is they are located in the courtyard of a bar called Le Clos. This food truck makes excellent burgers. Even if it’s a bit far from the center of Reims, the walk is worth it! To know if they are in Reims, I suggest to like their Facebook page.

Jia et somphet:
This a Thai restaurant. It is a bit pricier, but very tasty. It is located next to Town Hall and offers a variety of different Thai dishes, from mild to spicy
Chez Lou:
This is a vegetarian restaurant that offers many dishes but also a big variety of drinks and healthy smoothies
What about shopping and groceries?
Supermarkets: Carrefour City (super close to campus, you will always find a fellow sciencespiste there!), Monoprix, Naturalia, Casino, etc.
Weekly markets: Believe it or not you can find weekly markets happening every day in Reims! Here you will find fresh food from small vendors that can sometimes be cheaper and better in quality. For more information, check out this link.
Shopping-wise, Reims is like most medium-sized cities in France where you can find big name brands (though not very numerous) in the city centre (ex: Zara, H&M, etc.). There are also smaller shops in the centre and around the city.
What does a typical week look like?
In a semester in Sciences Po, there are 15 weeks: 12 weeks of class, one of catch up classes, one for studying and revising and finally the finals. Here is an immersion into the future: what life could be like during a typical week in Reims.
The schedule you will put together at the beginning of the semester will contain approximately 24 hours of class. Since one class lasts for 2 hours, there are 2 to 3 different courses per day on average.
As regards the courses, the week is composed of 2 to 4 core courses, mandatory courses, electives and languages delivered in amphitheatres or classes of 15-25 students. Courses are delivered from 8am to 7:30 pm. Usually, lecture courses are in the morning.
Having 4-6 hours of class per day allows to you to have plenty of time to get involved in extracurricular activities such as sports and associations (see ASSOCIATION LIST). Sports practices are from 6pm to 8pm. Associations you will take part in will usually meet during lunch break or afternoons.
Your week will be organised around homework as well. For every class there will be readings as well as presentations and essays from time to time.
Adding to that, a great part of your week will be dedicated to grocery shopping, cleaning and laundry.
However every week, if not every day, fun events will cheer you up: dinners with your roommates, themed parties, events organised by your BDE, or movies screened by your BDA. In addition to that, some associations organise ateliers in which the student can take part.
During the weekend, your time is spent sleeping, recovering, working and perpetuating the fun. Most of the weekends there will be activities organised such as weekend intercampus trips, where we pay visit to other campuses of Sciences Po, bar nights, club parties and local events such as the annual Christmas Market.
Generally speaking, don’t fear being bored in Reims!
